Frantoio

The Mela family is particularly proud of these wide-ranging terraces, 250 metres above sea level, consisting of previously uncultivated land. It is neither in a particularly sunny position nor in a place that is necessarily suitable for the cultivation of olive trees. Its name derives from the Latin word “mat”, meaning a position of high altitude.
